When you enrol with Just Swim, Moana Pool’s swim school, our highly trained and qualified instructors will ensure your individual needs are met so you achieve confidence, enjoyment and safety in and around the water.

The Just Swim adult programme provides a supportive and comfortable environment for all swimming abilities. Whether you’re looking to develop your water confidence, considering a new type of exercise, or training for events such as triathlons or open-water swims, we have the lesson for you!

Just Swim adult lessons are held over a five week period on a Monday or Wednesday evening. The block course offers one lesson per week and free swimming at Dunedin Pool for the duration of the course.

Just swim for confidence

30 minutes | Max 6

Monday 6.30pm & Wednesday 6pm

New to swimming and want to build your confidence and basic skills. Classes will cover:

  • Submerge and exhale for 5 seconds
  • Kicking 15 metres front and back
  • Rotation
  • Introduction to arms

Just swim to move

30 minutes | Max 6

Monday 7.05pm & Wednesday 6.35pm

If you already have basic skills and want to refine your breathing and swimming strokes. Classes will cover:

  • 25m freestyle
  • 25m backstroke
  • Introduction to breaststroke

Just swim further

40 minutes | Max 8

Wednesday 7.10pm

If you can swim 25m freestyle and backstroke but want to improve your technique and distance. Classes will cover:

  • 50m freestyle
  • 50m backstroke
  • 25m breaststroke
  • 200m swim any combination of strokes

Just swim for fitness and training

60 minutes | Max 10

Wednesday 7.10pm

This class is ideal for those who want to further develop their technique, and increase distance and stamina while following a Squad programme. Classes will cover:

  • Individual goals
  • 1000m endurance swim
  • Technique refinement
  • Fitness and/or competition
